Aquilano.Rimondi Backstage A/W 11-12

I was a dresser for Aquilano.Rimondi show backstage. The call time was 6pm but we all had to wait outside for over an hour in the rain as they were really behind schedule! When we finally got in the venue was at Palazzo Clerici in Milan and the rooms were beautiful with renaissance decorations. However it wasn't a great venue when you think about space you could barely breath let alone move! The staff were extremely stressy and wouldnt allow us to take any images but i managed to smuggle a few. The collection was beautiful with intricate detailing and beading with crystals. Alexandra Shulman the Editor of Vogue UK made an appearance which was amazing! My model was called Sara she was lovely and came from Switzerland I only had one outfit with her. Here are a few images I managed to take without being shouted at!

My model Sara that I dressed. The coat was beautiful made with really high quality materials and the gloves are really cute. The down side was her shoes literally impossible to get on took me 10 min to zip up each shoe! But the total look was fabulous and so was the rest of the show!

C'N'C show A/W 11-12

Today was an amazing day! Milan Fashion Week is in full swing and the city is buzzing with events. Today my class was so lucky that Sarah Rutson the fashion director of Lane Crawford came to Istituto Marangoni to speak to us about the roles of a Buyer and her job as a fashion director. The nicest woman ever! Very polite and answered all of our questions and was in no hurry to leave. I even ended up sharing a lift with her on the way out! Walking back home however the C'N'C show was about to start so to chance my luck for the day I sweet talked the bouncer in letting me in to see it!! Here are a few images of the show enjoy!

The venue was at Piazza Duomo according to the bouncer it's the first year they have done this!

Wednesdays are the bane of my life as I have class from 9.30 to 6.30 each week, which really sucks as I zone out at about lunch time! So to make it all better I christened Wednesday's as Chocolate Wednesday's! So to celebrate this occasion I found a new fashion photographer called 'She Is Frank' A female photographer who keeps her name a secret and is based in Melbourne Australia. I really like her photographs as they are fun, sexy and kinda retro at the same time. I chose these images of 'indulgence' as it's what I am feeling right now (and every Wednesday from now on) I might just start that pack of Cadbury fruit and nut chocolate....... Kate Moss the Official new Dior Beauty Face

Back since October Kate Moss was photographed applying a Dior Addict lipstick whilst going to the Dior S/S11 show. Of course this sparked rumours in who will be the next face for Dior Addict beauty?! Well 'surprisingly' Kate Moss got the top job in campaigning for the new 'Be Iconic' Dior Addict lipsticks. Spring Wish List!

Today in Milan it really feels like Spring has finally arrived, the sun is out and its warm! I even had my windows wide open (normally its so cold here i'm normally standing against my heater shivering...) So I thought of rummaging a few websites to see what the offer is on the high street for new spring collections.....Thank god that Topshop does not exist in Italy otherwise my credit card would be over! I go on their website everyday looking at their new clothes and sob but secretly happy that I cant spend any money! Here are a few pieces that I found online that I would like in my new Spring wardrobe from flared camel trousers to a kimono inspired throw over to wonder the streets in. Wedges for me is a must this season I have become obsessed in finding the perfect pair (Its hard for me as I am so tall) But these ones from New Look are so cute with flowers punched trough. Well I just have to wait till Easter when I get back to the UK for some very happy shopping!

Washed Away....

I love Fashion Illustration I really wish I could create these images by Cate Parr. By using watercolours in drawing her images makes them even more amazing to look at. I really like her use of different colours  and how they all blend together. The Los Angeles based artist with British origins specialises in using watercolours and takes inspiration with Vintage Vogue magazines and cinematic scenes. Summer Loving

I came across these images by Thierry Lebraly. I took these images from his various photo-shoots which show the anticipation for good weather, sunshine and a beach!! I don't know about you but i'm getting fed up in being cold, rained on and always wearing black as I am too depressed in thinking of outfit ideas. These photos have given me a glimmer of hope to come later on the year!
